17 races in and there have been drivers who have headed to the rostrum as if it were a ritual, but there have been drivers who have headed there for the first time in their careers.
Unsurprisingly, the McLaren drivers lead the way when it comes to grand prix podiums, in 2025, with Oscar Piastri standing on it 14 times, while Lando Norris has stood on it one time less.
What was most impressive for Piastri was how he bounced back from spinning out of race-winning contention from his home race, the season-opening Australian Grand Prix. Thereafter, he stood on the podium in the next eight races, winning five of them.

The man who is third on the podium list is the driver third in the world championship. Max Verstappen has stood on it eight times and the last three successively. In fact, before that, he had not finished in the podium places in successive grand prix in 2025.
He then did not feature on the rostrum in four successive races, during the heart of the European season, something that had not happened to him since he was 20 years old, he is now 28.
Before the summer break, it was George Russell with more podium finishes, but his second-place finish in Azerbaijan brought his tally up to seven for the season, his personal best since 2022. One more top-three finish would equal his best season podium tally in his Formula One career.
Next on the list is Charles Leclerc who last featured in the top trio during the Belgian Grand Prix, before the summer break. In total, he has five podium finishes to his name in 2025, which is Ferrari’s total too.
Meanwhile, Kimi Antonelli (at the Canadian Grand Prix), Nico Hulkenberg (at the British Grand Prix) and Isack Hadjar (at the Dutch Grand Prix) all scored their first, and so far only, podium finishes in 2025.

And joining them on a single rostrum trip this campaign is Carlos Sainz, who was the feel-good story in Azerbaijan, after converting second on the grid into third in the race.
Remarkably Lewis Hamilton is not on this list, despite the Brit finishing in the top three in two sprints, including a win in China. Failure to head to the podium for the rest of 2025 would mark Hamilton’s first ever campaign without one.
And Yuki Tsunoda, who has been driving for Red Bull since the third race of the season, has not got off the mark either, and looks set to become the first Red Bull driver not to get a podium in a given season, since Alex Albon in 2019.
