Lionesses super-sub Michelle Agymeng has been shortlisted for 2025 Ballon d'Or Young Player of the Year.

The 19 year old made a crucial impact in England's European Championship defence, scoring important goals in their tournament victory.

The Arsenal forward was on a season-long loan at Brighton & Hove Albion when she received the call up to Sarina Wiegman's squad in April to replace an injured Alessia Russo.

At Brighton, she had just 17 appearances, 3 goals and 1 assist.

She made her debut for the Lionesses on April 8, when she was substituted on in the 80th minute against Belgium in the Nations League.

Agyemang has been the equalising power for England, saving the team late on in their Euro's campaign to send matches to extra time and penalties.

She was named young player of the tournament for her performances.

Now, she's in the running for the first-ever Kopa Trophy which will crown the best under-21 female footballer in the world.

Lionesses dominated 2025 Ballon d'Or Nominations

Agyemang is the only England player nominated for the Kopa Trophy, but she's not the only England player to be nominated this year.

Captain Leah Williamson is one of five England players to be in the running for the Women's Ballon d'Or, alongside Lucy Bronze, Chloe Kelly, Alessia Russo and Hannah Hampton.

Chelsea's Hampton is also a nominee for the Yachine Trophy, an award given to the best female goalkeeper in the world.

Manager Sarina Wiegman has once again received a nomination for Women's Team Coach of the Year after leading the Lionesses to back-to-back European triumphs. She is shortlisted alongside Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor and Arsenal's Renee Slegers.
