Liverpool are ready to spend big again in 2026 after finishing top of the Premier League spending charts in the summer transfer window.
Arne Slot moved quickly to bolster his squad ahead of the Reds title defence with two players arriving for top-flight transfer records.
Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak both broke the Premier League record and Slot's final net spend tally landed at £218m, as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz also moved on.
However, the former Feyenoord boss is also planning for the long-term, and life after Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk from 2027 onwards.
The pair signed contract extensions until the end of the 2026/27 campaign at the back end of last season and Liverpool will reopen their interest in Marc Guehi as a free agent next summer.
A cut-price offer for Guehi will free up funds for reinforcements elsewhere, and Slot has been linked with a host of attackers including French pair Michael Olise and Bradley Barcola.

The duo are vital to their respective causes at Bayern Munich and PSG, and with Olise under contract until 2029, Liverpool have already looked elsewhere.
The Bavarians would demand a minimum £100m fee, with PSG valuing Barcola at a similar price, but with his contract up in 2028.
PSG start Barcola contract talks as Liverpool close in
Barcola's contract situation has triggered a response in Paris, with reports from L'Equipe stating a new agreement with the 23-year-old is now being prioritised.

The Ligue 1 giants are already working on fresh deals for Fabian Ruiz and teenager star Senny Mayulu - who are out of contract in 2027 - but Barcola's representatives are due for imminent talks at the Parc des Princes.
At the start of his third season in the first team, after scoring 21 goals in PSG's quadruple win last season, Barcola set for a major increase on his current €7.2m [£6.2m] annual salary.
Willian Pacho could also be offered new terms, despite being contracted until 2029, as Liverpool look set for frustration on Barcola.
