Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has backed Chelsea’s talisman, Cole Palmer, to start for the club in the Champions League encounter on Wednesday night.
As fans of both teams prepare for the big encounter at the Allianz Arena, Chelsea fans face an anxious wait to find out whether Cole Palmer will be starting for them.
After his recent injury absence, the 23-year-old playmaker marked his return at the weekend with a goal off the bench in the 2-2 draw against Brentford.
However, there is still no clarity as to whether or not the English international will be in the starting XI or not, given that he is just coming back from injury.
But Kompany has backed Palmer to feature from the off on Wednesday night.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich talisman Harry Kane has backed Palmer to go on and become a world-class player if he continues to perform at his current level.

Vincent Kompany expects Cole Palmer to start
Vincent Kompany, the Bayern manager, suggests that he expects to see Palmer in Chelsea’s starting XI against his side on Wednesday evening.
“Cole is an outstanding player. It wouldn’t surprise me if he starts, but maybe they won’t take the risk with him. I know him very well,” Kompany said via Bayern Munich’s official website.

Palmer has endured a frustrating start to the season so far because of his groin injury, sitting out the international break as well.
If he starts against Bayern, it will be just his second start of the season. In fact, he will be making his 100th Chelsea appearance if he features.
He changed the game against Brentford with his introduction, so it would be a huge call from Blues head coach Enzo Maresca to leave him out for the Bayern trip.
