A former England striker says Chelsea now have a player who can follow in the footsteps of Didier Drogba and Diego Costa.
Chelsea enjoyed a busy transfer window and did well to get a lot of their work done during the early stages of the window.
That strategy served them well and helped them to win the Club World Cup over the summer.
While they signed several new players during the window, the acquisition of Joao Pedro stands head and shoulders above the others in terms of impact so far.
The Brazilian has had an instant impact at Stamford Bridge, scoring five goals in six games across competitions so far.
Now, a former Blues striker has made a big claim by stating that Pedro can follow in the footsteps of the club’s legends.

Emile Heskey believes that Joao Pedro can emulate Didier Drogba and Diego Costa at Chelsea
Former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey believes Pedro was a good signing and he can lead the line for Chelsea.
Speaking to EPL Index, Heskey said, “I like the signing of Joao Pedro at Chelsea, I think he can now follow in the steps of Didier Drogba and Diego Costa to lead the line for Chelsea so well.”

In his short stint as a Chelsea striker so far, Pedro has shown that he has all the necessary skills to survive and thrive in the Premier League.
Therefore, it is hard to argue with Heskey’s assessment of the player. He has made a bright start to his Chelsea career, and there seems to be no reason why he cannot go on to achieve what the likes of Drogba and Costa did in the long run.
