Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are known for their bond with fans. Over the years, the "12th Man Army" has stood behind the team through highs and lows.
But after the unfortunate stampede at the victory parade on June 4 that claimed eleven lives, the franchise felt a bigger responsibility.

To show care and long-term support, RCB launched a new initiative called “RCB Cares.”
Why did RCB start 'RCB Cares'?
The initiative was born out of a tragedy that shocked the cricket community. Fans who came out to celebrate the team’s IPL title win ended up facing a crowd mishap that cost lives.
Soon after, RCB promised financial help of ₹25 lakh to each family of the victims. But the management wanted to do more than just a one-time relief.
That’s when they came forward with “RCB Cares”, a broader program aimed at both safety and empowerment of fans.

What are the main goals of 'RCB Cares'?
RCB has described “RCB Cares” as a long-term promise, not just a short-term campaign. According to the franchise, the program is built around six key areas:
Provide support that goes beyond financial aid- Ensure fast, transparent, and human support to fans and families impacted.
Build safe and inclusive environments- Work closely with stadium authorities, sporting bodies, and league partners to design better crowd management protocols.
Empower communities with real opportunities- Social development programs that have kicked off in rural Karnataka, starting with the Siddi community.
Invest in independent research and crowd safety- Create a fan-safety audit framework and train our on-ground partners annually on crowd management and emergency response.
Elevate fan memory into something permanent- A dedicated space in Bengluru to honour the names, stories and spirit of RCB's most passionate fans. A living tribute.

Build futures through sport- Belief in this team should not just live in the stands. Create in-stadia jobs, nurture local talent, and support the next generation of professionals in sport.
