Liverpool are edging closer to securing a Premier League transfer record deal for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak.
The transfer saga has dominated the summer window with Isak effectively on strike since July after telling the Magpies he wanted to leave.
The following war of words saw the Sweden international call out the Newcastle ownership over alleged 'broken promises' that he could leave if the right offer landed.
Newcastle rejected those claims, and Liverpool's £110m offer at the start of August, but a deal has now been agreed on deadline day.
Liverpool will smash the Premier League transfer record for the second time this summer with a £125m fee agreed over the 26-year-old striker.
That includes £125m paid to Newcastle by Liverpool with £5m in FIFA 'solidarity payments' after Isak agreed to waive a final contract bonus.

Isak has been spotted at Liverpool's training base today with the finalities of his contract being agreed and a medical.
However, as the clock ticks down to the 7pm UK deadline, the club are yet to make an official announcement.

However, Isak's early exit is not a concern over the deal falling apart, as it's based on the striker jetting off to join up with the Sweden squad.
Head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson has included Isak in his squad for the incoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers away in Slovenia and Kosovo.
Isak may not speak publicly as a Liverpool player until he return from international duty.
