As the 2025 summer transfer window nears a close, there are still many twists and turns to be taken across the European football landscape.

Premier League clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea have already spent a fortune in the transfer window to date, but don't appear to be slowing down as deadline day approaches.

Other clubs like Real Madrid and Galatasaray could also have a say in the global market, while Bayern Munich are also still active in negotiations.

With the big five European leagues coming together to sync up this year's deadline, The Sporting News brings you the latest news as the final day of the summer transfer window approaches the end.

Transfer deadline day live: Latest done deals, news and rumours

All times BST. Window closes at 7 p.m., deal sheet submitted extends window to 9 p.m.

5:30 p.m.: This concludes our transfer deadline day coverage!

Late confirmed deals include Man United's capture of Senne Lammens, Oleksandr Zinchenko's loan to Nottingham Forest, Ben Chilwell's move to Strasbourg, and Yoane Wissa's deal to join Newcastle.

Nicolas Jackson has also completed his arduous switch to Bayern Munich.

5:00 p.m.: Crystal Palace have confirmed the loan capture of Christantus Uche from Getafe. The 22-year-old joins with a reported €20 million obligation to buy, and will be a key figure in replacing Eberechi Eze.

4:38 p.m.: Manchester United confirm that Jadon Sancho will spend the rest of the season on loan at Aston Villa. In addition to a loan fee, Villa will reportedly cover 80% of his wages as part of the deal. It will see Sancho run down the final year of his Manchester United contract, with the Red Devils not expected to pick up his one-year option at the end of the season.

4:34 p.m.: Fulham confirm a deal for Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk. He arrives on a reported club record transfer fee of £34.6 million, a figure which tops the arrival of Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal last summer. The 22-year-old is just the third signing of the summer for the Whites, who left their business very late.

4:30 p.m.: FINALLY, after a month-long transfer saga, Alexander Isak is officially a Liverpool player, joining from Newcastle United. He will wear No. 9 at Anfield, saying "it's been a long journey to get here, but I'm super happy to be a part of this team, this club, and everything this stands for."

Time will tell if, as Liverpool say, he was "worth the wait."

4:24 p.m.: Fulham fans will be thrilled with Harry Wilson remaining at Craven Cottage, with his move to Leeds United falling apart, but it comes at a cost. According to Bobby Vincent of Football London, Fulham's move for Chelsea youngster Tyrique George has fallen apart with Wilson staying at the club.

It's a highly questionable tradeoff, with Wilson now approaching the final year of his Fulham contract. Now, the club have decided to see him enter a potential walk year while also missing the chance to sign a promising youngster at a cut-rate price. They may come to regret this one.

4:05 p.m.: Nottingham Forest have reportedly completed a deal for Arsenal gadget player Oleksandr Zinchenko. The Ukrainian moves on a straight season-long loan.

4:00 p.m.: THE 2025 SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW IS FULLY SHUT! Even transfers with a deal sheet in place must be completed by now!

8:47 p.m.: Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Brazilian left-back Cuiabano from Botafogo. Reports claim Forest paid to have first option on this deal, and have exercised it, giving them a leg up on Brighton. He will sign a five-year contract, and comes with a price tag of around £35 million.

8:37 p.m.: Conrad Harder, who was mentioned in connection to a number of Premier League clubs, eventually ends up at RB Leipzig on a €26 million deal, confirmed by the German club.

8:34 p.m.: Fulham confirm the move for Samuel Chukwueze! It's a fantastic deal for the Whites, who secure a top-tier winger on a permanent deal. It's a loan with a €25 million conditional obligation to buy.

8:32 p.m.: Manchester City's two goalkeeping moves have numbers. Gianluigi Donnarumma joins for €30 million on a five-year contract, while Ederson departs for €14 million. Donnarumma's deal includes an option for a sixth season.

8:19 p.m.: Ben Jacobs has the details on Leeds' failed swoop for Harry Wilson, with Fulham pulling out of the deal just minutes before the deadline, deciding not to sell the fan favourite.

8:15 p.m.: Burnley have completed what could end up being their club-record signing, securing Florentino Luis from Benfica on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The loan fee is reportedly £1.7 million with a £20.8 million option next summer to make the move permanent.

8:00 p.m.: With an hour to go before all deals must be completed, Tottenham have officially announced the loan signing of Randal Kolo Muani from PSG. He is eligible to play for Spurs against his parent club in the Champions League, since UEFA do not have a restriction on such instances.

7:52 p.m.: Piero Hincapie has officially completed his move to Arsenal. Bayer Leverkusen claim the move comes with a €52 million obligation to buy "under certain conditions" which according to reports are "extremely likely to transpire."

7:47 p.m.: Potential deals are dropping like flies now that the window has closed. Leeds' late push for Harry Wilson of Fulham is reportedly not going forward, despite a deal sheet being submitted by Leeds.

7:44 p.m.: Marc Guehi to Liverpool is OFF, reports Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport. Oliver Glasner wins the battle within Crystal Palace, and keeps his captain at least for another few months, if not for the rest of the season. Crystal Palace will likely see him depart for free this summer, unless Liverpool work out a cut-rate deal in January.

7:38 p.m.: Reports claim that Liverpool have submitted all the necessary paperwork to complete the deal for Marc Guehi. It's all up to whether Crystal Palace decide if they have the capacity to sell now. The 9 p.m. BST deadline is effectively just for them at this point.

If it falls through, Jack Lusby of This Is Anfield expects the deal to be revived either in the winter for a cut rate or next summer for free.

7:31 p.m.: William Osula's proposed move to Eintracht Frankfurt is now reportedly off, as the deal did not go through in time. The young striker will stay at Newcastle and compete for playing time with new signing Nick Woltemade.

7:23 p.m.: Manchester United flirted with a move for Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa, but they eventually land on Senne Lammens, whose reportedly completed move will give Andre Onana some competition in goal.

7:17 p.m.: Chelsea have reportedly completed the sale of Ben Chilwell to Strasbourg, who are also owned by BlueCo. It's a permanent move, according to Ben Jacobs, who says Chilwell will sign a two-year contract.

7:10 p.m.: According to multiple reports, a deal sheet HAS been lodged for Marc Guehi, so the move to Liverpool can still proceed as of now. "Optimism" of eventual completion, apparently.

7:04 p.m.: Nobody wanted Raheem Sterling, and he reportedly stays at Chelsea. He was apparently not interested in a move to Saudi Arabia. He is a £300,000-per-week burden on the club's wage bill.

7:00 p.m.: THE 2025 SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW IS NOW CLOSED!

Remember, as long as a deal sheet is submitted in time, moves can proceed to completion from here. A deal sheet gives an additional two hours to complete a deal. We'll see if there is any late business which has been thwarted by the clock.

6:58 p.m.: West Ham made a late push to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea, but that is reportedly off as the window nears a close. It seems their capture of Igor is enough as far as defensive replacements go.

6:55 p.m.: Crystal Palace are reportedly moving for young Toulouse defender Jaydee Canvot. Will that be the cover the Eagles need to sanction the Marc Guehi to Liverpool deal?

Less than 10 minutes later: Whoa, that deal progressed quickly! It's official!

6:48 p.m.: Real Betis have finally completed their exhaustive efforts to sign Antony from Manchester United on a permanent basis. The deal is reportedly for €25 million including add-ons, while Manchester United retain a hefty 50% sell-on fee. Man United reportedly called Real Betis's bluff during the process, and wriggled out of paying part of Antony's salary.

He signs a five-year contract with the club, which is announced by their social media team after literally tweeting about him all day long. Find someone who looks at you like Real Betis look at Antony.

6:38 p.m.: We have a late one, and unsurprisingly it's Fulham who are at the heart of it! The Whites, who seem to conjure business out of thin air in the final hours of deadline day every single year, are reportedly looking to complete a loan move for 18-year-old Bayern Munich striker Jonah Kusi-Asare. The chances of completing this deal are slim given how little time remains, but seemingly every year they give one of these late fliers a go.

6:31 p.m.: Rasmus Hojlund's move from Manchester United to Napoli is official. The deal is reportedly a season-long loan with a €44 million conditional obligation to buy at the end of it.

6:27 p.m.: David Ornstein reports that the deals for Gianluigi Donnarumma (in) and Ederson (out) are done at Manchester City. The goalkeeper swap is complete. Ornstein notes that because the Turkish transfer window does not conclude for over a week still, there is no rush to finalise the Ederson exit immediately, so an official announcement may not be done today, but for all intents and purposes it appears like the Brazilian will be joining Fenerbahce.

6:24 p.m.: With just over a half-hour before the window closes, it appears there is still some confusion around whether Marc Guehi will join Liverpool. It seems there is some conflict inside the Crystal Palace camp, with Oliver Glasner insistent that he not lose the defender, while the club do not wish to see him walk for free at the end of the campaign.

They don't have very long to decide.

6:18 p.m.: Sunderland are reportedly nearing the completion of a deal for RB Leipzig right-back Lutsharel Geertruida, who is currently undergoing a medical with the club. It will be a loan with a £2.5 million fee, with an £18 million option to buy at the end of the season. The 25-year-old has 17 international caps for the Netherlands.

6:14 p.m.: Despite all the incoming signings on deadline day, Fulham have reportedly rejected a late bid for Harry Wilson by Leeds, who were interested in the wide player. Wilson is beloved by Fulham supporters and a deadline day exit would have been disheartening.

6:04 p.m.: It appears the only thing holding up the Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man City deal is a concurrent move for Ederson. Reports indicate the Italian has signed for City, and is only waiting for Ederson to complete his move to Turkey.

Brazilian outlet Globo seem to believe that deal is nearing completion as well.

6:00 p.m.: LESS THAN ONE HOUR TO GO IN THE SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW!

5:55 p.m.: Wow, a quickfire double for Fulham supporters! The move for Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk gets the "Here We Go" from Fabrizio Romano!

5:52 p.m.: Sounds like Fulham fans may finally be able to celebrate their first signing of the summer soon! Reports from Italy indicate that Samuel Chukwueze is on the verge of signing his long-term contract with the club ahead of a move from AC Milan.

5:42 p.m.: According to Ed Aarons of The Telegraph, the issue with Igor to Crystal Palace was not West Ham gazumping the Eagles, but instead an issue with his medical. Aarons reports that Palace are exploring other options but that Marc Guehi's deal to Liverpool is not expected to be affected. Guehi was reportedly in the middle of his medical when the Igor deal fell apart.

5:34 p.m.: Once the main target man of Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen, Victor Boniface is now quietly moving to fellow German side Werder Bremen on loan. He was once a hot commodity, but for some reason has seen interest almost completely fade in the European transfer market.

5:25 p.m.: Randal Kolo Muani looks to be close to completing his surprise move to Tottenham, as he is shown by Sky Sports leaving his Spurs medical in London.

Read more about the surprise deals of deadline day here, including Kolo Muani's loan to Spurs. He was thought likely to re-join Juventus before a move to the Italian giants collapsed late.

5:21 p.m.: The signing of Victor Lindelof by Aston Villa has been announced. He signs a two-year deal classified as a free transfer after his Manchester United contract expired over the summer.

5:18 p.m.: According to Henry Winter, Crystal Palace are finalising the arrival of Tottenham winger Manor Soloman on a season-long loan, likely triggered by Spurs signing Randal Kolo Muani.

5:12 p.m.: Gianluigi Donnarumma looks on the verge of joining Manchester City, as the Champions League winning goalkeeper has reportedly signed a long-term contract at the end of his medical, which he took in Italy while on international duty. He will depart PSG after being frozen out of the French club, replaced by Lucas Chevalier. It will likely see Ederson leave Man City, if they still have time to arrange a move abroad.

5:09 p.m.: In order for Chelsea to sanction the Nicolas Jackson deal to Bayern Munich and still feel comfortable about covering Liam Delap's injury, they have recalled Marc Guiu from his loan at Sunderland. It's a risky move, as Delap is only expected to miss 4-6 weeks, while Guiu will be stuck down the Chelsea depth chart for at least another few months. But they have reportedly come to an agreement with Sunderland to cancel the loan and bring Guiu back to Stamford Bridge.

5:02 p.m.: Man City are in sell mode on deadline day. Not only is a deal for Ederson potentially still in the works, but Ilkay Gundogan has departed for Galatasaray, joining the Turkish club on a two-year contract according to Fabrizio Romano. Sounds like the potential move still needs Gundogan's approval.

4:55 p.m.: Why isn't Igor joining Crystal Palace? DRAMA! It appears that West Ham have hijacked a deal for the Brighton defender, reportedly set to join the Hammers on a season-long loan instead.

4:33 p.m.: There's a late twist for Liverpool to deal with, as Igor's move to Crystal Palace from Brighton has reportedly collapsed, according to Fabrizio Romano. This has a ripple effect, because it means Palace have failed to secure a replacement for Marc Guehi. The deal for Guehi to Liverpool could be called off, unless Palace can sort out another option.

4:15 p.m.: Reports claim Alexander Isak has passed his medical at Liverpool and an announcement is imminent. Get ready, Reds fans!

4 p.m.: After much back-and-forth, it appears the deal for Nicolas Jackson to join Bayern Munich is nearing completion. Chelsea nearly cancelled the deal after Liam Delap picked up an injury, but after Jackson's agent threw a fit with the player already flown to Germany, Chelsea picked negotiations back up and the deal is almost done.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Jackson will sign a season-long loan that will come with a €65 million obligation to buy triggered by an appearance threshold. There is also a sizable loan fee of €16.5 million, plus Bayern will cover Jackson's full salary.

That's an INCREDIBLE deal for Chelsea! How on earth have they almost cancelled the move???? Must have been a negotiating tactic, because WOW, that's exorbitant!

UPDATE 6:44 p.m.: This was initially reported to be an €80 million obligation to buy, but has since been reduced in later reporting. It likely got mixed up earlier with the loan fee included in the option fee.

3:35 p.m: Fulham boss Marco Silva has been frustrated by a transfer market of stasis at Craven Cottage. But the London club are looking to get some late business done. Chelsea youngster Tyrique George is on the verge of making the very short journey from Craven Cottage for £22m. Meanwhile, despite Fulham having agreed a £34.6m deal for Shakhtar Donetsk, Sporting CP are also making a late move. Will he get on the plane to London or Lisbon? Construct your own Home Alone gag.

3:10 p.m: Chelsea sure do love Brighton players.

2:30 p.m: Manchester City's year of player churn continues. Manuel Akanji, a bargain buy and unlikely star of their treble-winning campaign is on his way to Inter Milan. The Switzerland defender has joined for a €2m loan fee with a option to buy, as per Fabrizio Romano. That clause will become mandatory if Akanji plays 50% of Inter's games and if the Nerazzurri win Serie A.

Manuel Akanji

2:15 p.m: Julio Enciso has completed his move to Strasbourg, Chelsea's affiliated club in France following previous talk of him joining the BlueCo ownership group. That was a weird few days. He's Brighton's second exit today after Tariq Lamptey joining Fiorentina.

1:30 p.m: So, I guess we all expected big money to be flying in and out of Newcastle for centre-forwards today. I'm not sure anyone £30m of it to concern Will Osula. The young Danish forward is seemingly heading to Eintracht Frankfurt for that figure, as per the Daily Mail's Craig Hope. Aston Villa, who are on a serious spree, were also in contention for Osula. If only Eintracht had worked out he was their man when Hugo Ekitike was on the market. That's surely something Newcastle fans will be pondering today if they have enough time to think.

1:10 p.m: Yoane Wissa is in the building at Newcastle's training ground and completing his medical. He and Alexander Isak are almost at the end of their days of anguish and over-wrought social media statements.

12:55 p.m: Tottenham made an eye-catching late window move to sign the highly rated Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig and Thomas Frank's men aren't done there. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Randal Kolo Muani is on his way to north London to seal a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain. France striker Kolo Muani spent the second half of last season on loan at Juventus and will compete with Richarlison, Dominic Solanke, and Mathys Tel among others for his spot in the Spurs forward line.

12:30 p.m: United might not be stopping at a goalie today. Football Espana is reporting Ruben Amorim is keen on Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher. It feels like there's plenty to do as the clock ticks down, though, with United preferring a loan and Atleti purportedly only keen on a sale in the region of €45m. Crystal Palace have also been credited with bringing the England international back to south London.

Getty Images

11:55 a.m.: And just like that, The Athletic reports United and Antwerp have an agreement over Lammens! It is apparently €21m, plus add-ons. It appears they have chosen their new goalkeeper.

11:51 a.m.: Senne Lammens is apparently on his way to Manchester! He is said to have an agreement in place with United, although Antwerp have not yet agreed to a sale. There's still a chance he ends up somewhere else today.

11:48 a.m.: DONE DEAL: Chelsea have sold youngster Alex Matos to Sheffield United. He played just twice for the Blues after arriving from Norwich City. There's a good chance that won't be the only Chelsea deal today, of course...

11:33 a.m.: An update from Chris Wheatley on Arsenal, concerning an important bit of reshuffling within the club's transfer department.

Arsenal make key backroom appointment as Andrea Berta shapes new era

11:22 a.m.: Isak has arrived for his Liverpool medical. Things should be wrapped up soon.

11:00 a.m.: It seems Tottenham may not be finished yet — there are rumours they could make a move for Randal Kolo Muani, whose proposed transfer to Juventus finally looks to have fallen through completely.

10:34 a.m.: More from The Athletic on Aston Villa's (very) late bargain hunt: they are said to be exploring the possibility of signing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool!

10:31 a.m.: David Ornstein reports that Jadon Sancho's loan to Aston Villa is close to being finalised. United have been unable to offload Sancho all summer but are apparently happy for him to leave on another loan with a view to a permanent move next year.

10:23 a.m.: Getafe striker Christantus Uche is a wanted man today — there are three Premier League sides trying to get him before the deadline! Read more on that here.

10:17 a.m.: We have a breakthrough with Yoane Wissa: widespread reports indicate Brentford have AGREED to sell him to Newcastle after all! Fabrizio Romano says the fee is around £55m. Money talks, as usual.

READ: Newcastle agree £55m for Yoane Wissa

10:05 a.m.: DONE DEAL: Chelsea have loaned Omari Kellyman to Cardiff City for the rest of the season. The 19-year-old only signed for Enzo Maresca's side a year ago from Aston Villa for £19m.

10:00 a.m.: DONE DEAL: Tariq Lamptey has signed for Fiorentina from Brighton. The transfer fee is around £6m.

9:27 a.m.: Galatasaray are at the heart of some of today's goalkeeper movements. The Turkish giants apparently made a late move to persuade Donnarumma and/or Ederson to join them, but to no avail. That means, so says Graeme Bailey, they could now come in for Andre Onana if Man United sign a goalkeeper before the deadline (as a reminder, Turkey's transfer window is open until September 10).

We discussed the prospect of Onana or Altay Bayindir heading to Istanbul here.

9:20 a.m.: Sunderland have been very busy in this window and look to be finishing it with a flourish. Sky Sports in the UK reports they have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for full-back Lutsharel Geertruida, and they are in discussions with Ajax for striker Brian Brobbey.

8:47 a.m.: An interesting update from Samuel Luckhurst on Jadon Sancho. The MEN's chief Manchester United writer says the idea of Sancho going to Aston Villa has been floated by United because the winger is on similar wages to Emiliano Martinez, who could become a Red Devils player by the end of the day. Sancho has so far not been able to secure a move away from Old Trafford despite it being made clear that he was not in Ruben Amorim's plans.

8:41 a.m.: Donnarumma update: Fabrizio Romano says the deal is done! Now, we'll see whether Ederson's move to Fenerbahce is completed.

8:20 a.m.: Manchester City are still hoping to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma today, although they'll only do so if Ederson completes a move to Fenerbahce. Ben Jacobs reports that discussions are ongoing.

8:13 a.m.: Fulham are expected to be busy today. Fabrizio Romano reports that they will sell Martial Godo, who's only made a handful of appearances, to Strasbourg. We should see Kevin become their record signing later today, and perhaps Samuel Chukwueze joining him in Marco Silva's side.

8:04 a.m.: What about incomings at United? Well, there's likely to be a goalkeeper in through the door: either Emiliano Martinez or Senne Lammens. Here's the latest.

7:55 a.m.: An early update from The Athletic's David Ornstein, who says Antony is finally on his way to Real Betis. The Spanish club had an offer accepted over the weekend only to withdraw their bid, saying they could not afford it. Now, it looks like a €25m fee and a 50% sell-on clause for United has got the deal done — although it could be the last Betis make given the cost involved.

7:35 a.m.: It looks like we have, at long, long last, an Alexander Isak breakthrough. Reports late on Sunday claimed Liverpool have seen a British-record transfer offer £130 million ($175.6m / €150.2m) accepted by Newcastle.. Get the latest developments here.

7 a.m.: This could be one of the busiest deadline days for a few years. Strap yourselves in!

What time does the transfer window close?

The transfer window closes today at 7 p.m. BST (2 p.m. ET) for Premier League clubs. The same is true for teams in La Liga, Serie A, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1.

Some windows are open a little longer. Turkish Super Lig clubs, for instance, can sign players until September 12. The Saudi Pro League's window shuts on September 10.
