The ODI series opener between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium, Perth, did not turn out as expected by the fans. Constant rain delays played spoilsport during the first innings of play.
In the first of the three matches, India were put in to bat first by Mitchell Marsh, and the visitors lost their star trio of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill in the powerplay, which put them on the backfoot.

What are the cut-off timings for India vs Australia 1st ODI in Perth?
With KL Rahul and Axar Patel in the middle for India in the 17th over at the time of the fourth rain delay, already 24 overs were lost due to the continuous drizzles.
According to cricket.com.au, the first match of the series has no extra time and can be played until 8 pm local time, i.e. AWST.
The 8 pm (AWST) cut-off essentially means that the match cannot be played after 5:30 pm (IST) and 11 pm (AEDT).
Notably, each side must play at least 20 overs to determine the result using the Duckworth-Lewis method. If either of the two teams plays fewer than 20 overs, the match will end with No Result.
If the conditions worsen, the match officials can call the match off before the cut-off time of 8 pm (AWST), especially if both teams cannot bat the minimum 20 overs required according to the ICC rules.
