In conversation with Brad Haddin and Adam Peacock at the LiSTNR Sport's podcast, Shastri discussed a variety of topics, including what's next for the star duo.

"They are not getting any younger. The World Cup is two years away and they have retired from two formats of the game. So, unless there's any white ball series happening [in Australia] before the World Cup, I can't see them [touring Australia again]. I think the World Cup will be their last tournament.

Following the Australia tour, India will face South Africa and New Zealand in ODIs till January before another long break in ODI cricket.

The duo is expected to represent Mumbai and Delhi, respectively, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy later during the Indian domestic season.
