Virat Kohli's international career has entered an uncertain phase with his future in the 50-over format now under the scanner. Having already stepped away from T20Is last year and Test cricket earlier in the summer, ODIs remain the only international format available for him.

Latest reports have emerged that suggest that there is growing uncertainty about whether the 36-year-old will continue to feature in India's one-day plans.

Ajit Agarkar seeks clarity on Virat Kohli's ODI plans

According to RevSportz, BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar recently reached out to Kohli to discuss his availability for ODIs. The report notes that communication from Kohli's end was limited, creating a sense of uncertainty about his future.

The selectors were hoping that both Kohli and Rohit Sharma would turn out for India A in the upcoming 50-over matches against Australia A - a series viewed as preparation ahead of the senior side's three-match ODI contest starting October 19.

Unlike Kohli, Rohit's ODI commitment appears clear. The BCCI recently shared a video of him training at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru alongside KL Rahul - signalling his readiness for the series.

Rohit - still India's ODI captain- is expected to lead the side against Australia next month. Both Kohli and Rohit last played for India on March 9 when the team defeated New Zealand in Dubai to lift the ICC Champions Trophy.
