Rinku Singh finally tasted some action in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 after he came on as a substitute to field in the second innings.

Singh, who has failed to break into the Indian starting lineup, did have some contribution in their win over Sri Lanka on Friday in their final Super Four clash as he took an important catch to dismiss Kusal Perera in the very first ball of the Super Over.

Suryakumar Yadav trusted Arshdeep Singh with the ball for the 'Super Over' and the left-arm pacer did not disappoint as he restricted Sri Lanka to just two runs and picked up both wickets.

India won the nail-biting 'dead rubber' clash to maintain their 100 per cent win record in the tournament ahead of heading to the final, where they will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan.

After the game, the Indian stars looked relieved, and some of them even shared a joke or two to lighten the mood after a tense encounter.

During one such conversation, Kolkata Knight Riders star Rinku revealed how he would have gotten a "scolding" from Arshdeep had he missed the catch in the Super Over.

Rinku and Arshdeep's hilarious conversation revealed after Sri Lanka clash in Asia Cup

Caught on BCCI TV, Rinku told Arshdeep and Jitesh Sharma: "Whenever you bowl and I take your catch I feel good. I have never dropped your catch."

Jitesh then teased Rinku by saying, "Yes, you can even get scolded, so you have to take the catch."

Arshdeep then concluded the funny conversation by saying: "So thanks to Rinku, he told me to stick to the plan and I kept bowling wide yorkers."

Will Arshdeep Singh feature in the Asia Cup final?

The left-arm pacer has been backed to feature in India's starting lineup against Pakistan in the Asia Cup final after his heroics in the Sri Lanka game. It remains to be seen if Gautam Gambhir and SKY decide to keep him in the lineup.
