The first Asia Cup 2025 clash between India and Pakistan in Dubai turned into a one-sided affair, with Suryakumar Yadav’s men sealing an easy seven-wicket win.

But the game was remembered less for runs and wickets, and more for what followed once the last ball was hit.

There were no handshakes. The Indian players walked straight off the field, leaving Pakistan’s team waiting in line. This act created a storm, with reactions flowing from the Pakistan side.

One former Pakistan cricketer went a step further, claiming that India’s boldness on the field is nothing like what he saw in the past.

Why did Mohsin Hassan criticize India’s actions?

Speaking in an interview, Mohsin Hassan, the former Pakistan cricketer, slammed the Indian camp for showing “rudeness.”

He felt that skipping handshakes was not the way to treat such a contest, and added that even the post-match presentation had remarks that showed no sense of discipline.

"Indian did not do well by not shaking hands. These people have crossed the line with their rudeness. They didn’t bring the team out with any sense of discipline. Then, they made inappropriate remarks at the press conference and during the presentation," said Mohsin.

What did he say about how India used to treat Pakistan before?

Hassan recalled the old days when he felt India looked at Pakistan with fear. He said back then, whether Pakistan was batting or fielding, the Indians felt they would get overpowered.

He insisted that those days are long gone, and now India play with full confidence and even audacity against Pakistan.

"I’ve been following cricket, especially Pakistan and Indian cricket, for years. Believe me, back in our day, I swear by God, I’m not exaggerating- they were terrified of us. Whether we were fielding or batting, they felt we’d overpower them. But look at their approach now," Hassan said.

Mohsin Hassan's message to current Pakistan players

The former cricketer also gave advice to the current Pakistan team. He urged them to stop focusing on how India behaves and instead concentrate on their own performance.

He repeated that players should not just play in Pakistan’s name, but play for Pakistan with full heart and discipline.

"From the start, I’ve said one thing, and I’ll repeat it: I swear by God, I’m saying this with all my heart- don’t play with Pakistan, play for Pakistan. Think about Pakistan’s betterment in every department," Mohsin concluded.
