IND W vs PAK W Women's World Cup: Pakistan cricketer opens up on Muneeba Ali controversial run-out image

India are off to a flying start in the 2025 ODI Women's World Cup as they have registered back-to-back wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Their latest win against the arch-rivals came on October 5, Sunday, as Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. outclassed Pakistan by 88 runs in Colombo.

India posted 247 runs, batting first, with Harleen Deol starring with an important 46-run knock. Pakistan were then bowled out for just 159 runs, with Sidra Ameen scoring 81 runs.

During Pakistan's run chase, a controversy erupted after Pakistan opener Muneeba Ali was given run out under unusual circumstances after she visibly seemed to have made her ground.

What happened during the India W vs Pakistan W clash? 

The incident occurred while in the 4th over of the game when Kranti Goud bowled to Muneeba Ali. After a loud LBW appeal, which was turned down, Deepti Sharma quickly fielded the ball and broke the stumps.

Muneeba seemed to be unaware of the throw and was initially deemed Not Out. The decision, however, was overturned after the third Umpire again took a look at the replays and found that the batter's bat was in the air when the ball hit the stumps.

How did Pakistan react to Muneeba Ali's run-out?

Addressing the incident, Pakistan bowler Diana Baig, who took four wickets in the match, said: "Muneeba's run-out issue has already been settled, I believe. I don't want to talk much about it now. Whatever happened and whatever the situation was, I think it has been resolved."
