A moment of controversy emerged during the high-voltage Women's World Cup clash between India W and Pakistan W when Pakistani opener Muneeba Ali was adjudged run out under unusual circumstances after she visibly seemed to have made her ground.
Muneeba Ali had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring just two runs as Deepti Sharma got her run out.

What happened during the India W vs Pakistan W clash?
The incident occurred while in the 4th over of the game when Kranti Goud bowled to Muneeba Ali. After a loud LBW appeal, which was turned down, Deepti Sharma quickly fielded the ball and broke the stumps.
Muneeba seemed to be unaware of the throw and was initially deemed Not Out. The decision, however, was overturned after the third Umpire again took a look at the replays and found that the batter's bat was in the air when the ball hit the stumps.
What a shame, Muneeba Ali was given run out against India while she was comfortably back in the crease.

Why was Muneeba given out despite being inside the crease?
As per the MCC laws, a batter is said to be inside the crease only when any part of the bat or body is grounded behind the popping crease at the moment when the stumps are broken.
While Muneeba made her crease, she did not ground her bat, nor did her foot ground behind the line.
The incident led to a lot of chaos on the field and the Pakistani skipper, Fatima Sana, was seen having a discussion with the Fourth Umpire over the matter.
