After India outclassed their neighbors for the third time in the tournament, former Pakistani cricketer Tanvir Ahmed's on-air meltdown moment has now gone viral on the internet.

Tanvir Ahmed's meltdown as India beat Pakistan in Asia Cup 2025 final

India required 10 off the last over in the thrilling final that went down to the wire. A well-set Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh were batting at the crease, while Haris Rauf took charge to bowl the last over for Pakistan.

Ahead of the last over, Tanvir made a bold prediction: He believed that Rauf would defend 10 off the last over and snatch the game away from the Men In Blue. The prediction, however, went completely off track, as it took India just four balls in the final over to clinch the victory.

"Pakistan should win now. Rinku Singh won't be able to do it; there is a lot of pressure, and it all depends on Tilak Varma. Rauf will win us the game," said Ahmed with a smirk before the final over.

Thank you, Bangladesh, for helping us qualify for the Finals

Tanvir's prediction proved to be short-lived and quickly backfired as India comfortably chased down the total. His remark soon became a point of ridicule amongst the fans.

After the defeat, the same ex-cricketer had an outburst in severely criticizing the Pakistani players, including the senior bowlers Rauf and Afridi.

"I would like to thank the Bangladesh team, who played such third-class cricket and brought us to the finals. Sri Lanka deserved to be the second team. You come to play such a big event, and your batting is third-class. I give credit to the bowlers...even today, our bowlers were wonderful except one senior bowler, Haris," said the former cricketer.

Rauf conceded 50 off his 3.4 overs in the game, while for India, it was a wonderful turnaround after being reduced to 20 for 3 in the first four overs.

Tilak Varma played a blinder of a knock (69 off 53) under a tough pressure situation. The youngster was accompanied well by Sanju Samson (24 off 21) and Shivam Dube (33 off 22), who helped India chase down the target from a tricky situation.
