Shreyas Iyer was recently named as the India A captain to play against Australia A in the two multi-day matches later in the month, after he missed the flight to the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
The Indian batter is a regular feature in the ODI team and is currently being touted for a comeback in Tests and T20Is, having done well in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League for Mumbai and Punjab Kings, respectively.

While speaking on a podcast on iQOO India YouTube channel, Iyer spoke about the team spirit and maintaining positivity around the dressing room.
Interestingly, ahead of the Champions Trophy, Iyer also revealed that he would be benched for ODIs when India played against England. However, Virat Kohli missed the match due to some discomfort and he was roped in as a replacement.
The number 4 went on to score a fiery 59(36) in Nagpur and scored 181 runs in 3 innings against England to secure his place for the Champions Trophy.

"It is only frustrating at times when you know that you deserve to be in the team, in the playing XI. At that time, it's frustrating," said Iyer.
"But at the same time, when you know that someone is performing and playing consistently for the team and bringing their best, you support them. And eventually, the goal is for the team to win. When the team is winning, everyone is happy," he added.
