Mike Evans injury update: Latest news on Buccaneers WR's status in Week 3 game image

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an injury concern with wide receiver Mike Evans late in the Week 3 game against the New York Jets.

Evans suffered the injury in the fourth quarter and was clearly in pain after the play. Prior to his injury, the veteran wideout had four catches for 33 yards and one touchdown.

Evans status obviously bears monitoring, as the Buccaneers are already short-handed at wide receiver.

UPDATE: Evans has now been ruled out with his hamstring injury.

Here's some video of Evans walking off the field. He was clearly frustrated and very hobbled.

UPDATE: Evans is dealing with a hamstring injury and is questionable to return.

With the Bucs in full control against the Jets, it's unlikely we'll see Evans the rest of the way, even if he's healthy enough to get back out there.

END OF UPDATE

Evans was spotted hobbling to the locker room, which is not a good sign. His day could be done, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

We'll update this page when more information becomes available.

The Bucs are missing Chris Godwin, who has yet to return to the field after a dislocated ankle suffered last season, and Jalen McMillan, who is on injured reserve.

Rookie Emeka Egbuka was dealing with hip and groin issues going into Sunday but was able to suit up. If Evans misses time and Godwin doesn't come back next week, the rookie could serve as Baker Mayfield's No. 1 option moving forward.
