What number is Jaxon Smith-Njigba? Seahawks WR's quiet first half confusing fans image

The Seattle Seahawks have had a great first half against the Arizona Cardinals, leading 14-3, and one would expect that Jaxon Smith-Njigba would have played a big role.

Given his blistering start to the season, which has seen him post 323 yards and a touchdown from 22 receptions, Smith-Njigba has been the leading weapon for Sam Darnold.

But in the first half against the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football, No. 11 was worryingly anonymous, not having a single target in the passing game, which is really odd considering that in the first three games, he's averaged at least five receptions along with over 90 receiving yards.

So, either the Cardinals' defense is doing a top job on JSN, or the Seattle offense is fine with allowing its best weapon to be taken away, because they lead by two scores.

Will things pick up in the second half for Smith-Njigba? Well, based on how the game has gone, they might not have to.

No Jaxon Smith-Njigba vs. Cardinals, no problem

Given that Seattle's top weapon has been nonexistent, it would be fair to say the offense has struggled, but it hasn't.

Sam Darnold was 8 of 11 for 123 yards and a touchdown en route to 212 total yards of offense, while averaging 7.1 yards per play. Things are rolling well for Mike MacDonald's team in the first half.

So, we can only imagine what the offense will look like if Smith-Njigba gets rolling, because for the offense to look as it has through the first half, to then add in the play of JSN to the passing game, it might be a long night for Arizona.
