The San Francisco 49ers have been plagued by injuries to their pass-catchers to start the 2025 season and wide receiver Jauan Jennings has been part of that.

Jennings has missed two games in 2025, including the Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Jennings was once again on the injury report in Week 6 with ankle and rib issues and only logged a pair of limited sessions before drawing a questionable tag on Friday.

With fellow wide receiver Ricky Pearsall ruled out, the 49ers desperately need the veteran wide receiver on the field on Sunday.

Here's what we know about his status for the Week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Is Jauan Jennings playing today?

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jennings is expected to suit up on Sunday.

"49ers WR Jauan Jennings, listed as questionable for Sunday due to an ankle and rib injury, is expected to play vs. the Buccaneers, per sources," Schefter reported.

Jauan Jennings start or sit advice

With Pearsall ruled out and George Kittle (hamstring, IR) and Brandon Aiyuk (knee, PUP) still sidelined, Jennings should get peppered with targets as quarterback Mac Jones' No. 1 target.

The last time Jennings and Jones played together was in Week 2, when Jennings reeled in five of 10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown.

The Bucs are giving up the 14th-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers this season, so this isn't a scary matchup. Adding to that, Tampa Bay is capable of putting points on the board, so the Niners might have to throw more to keep up if Baker Mayfield and Co. go off on Sunday.

Start Jennings with confidence.
