One day after popping up on the injury report on Thursday, San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has spoken about his issue.
McCaffrey was listed as limited on Thursday's injury report with a calf injury, which is especially concerning given his history with injury issues in that area.
Then, on Friday, McCaffrey didn't practice at all and head coach Kyle Shanahan said the star running back will be questionable for Week 1.
After practice, McCaffrey spoke to reporters and said he feels "great" and plans to play on Sunday.
"Nothing serious," McCaffrey said. "I feel great about where I'm at. Unfortunately, when you have the injury history that I have, sometimes when you don't practice things get blown out of proportion."
McCaffrey admitted he felt something in practice on Thursday and felt playing it safe and not finishing the practice was "the smart thing to do."

While McCaffrey plans on playing, the team is going to have the final say in whether or not he does.
It's still very early in the season, so the 49ers may not want to risk it with one of their best players. We'll know for sure over the coming days.
If McCaffrey doesn't suit up, Brian Robinson Jr. will take the lead back duties for San Fran.
The 49ers will open their season on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
