The Pittsburgh Steelers shook up their running back room this offseason.
They let Najee Harris leave in free agency for the Los Angeles Chargers. They drafted Kaleb Johnson out of Iowa. And maybe most under the radar, they signed Kenneth Gainwell in free agency.
But on the first drive of the season, Gainwell led them in touches.
Aaron Rodgers threw him multiple passes, and Gainwell got to run it, too.
It's definitely a surprise.

Why is Kenneth Gainwell playing so much for the Steelers?
The main offseason discussion was whether Warren or Johnson would get the most action for Pittsburgh.
But the Steelers clearly like Gainwell.
Gainwell was a Super Bowl champion last season. He was Saquon Barkley's main backup in Philadelphia.

The Eagles let Gainwell go so that Will Shipley and A.J. Dillon could combine to back up Saquon this season.
That brought Gainwell to Pennsylvania's other NFL team, and early in his Steelers days, he looks like he'll be more important than expected.
It may not continue, but for now, it's a fascinating development for the Steelers.
