The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly signing some wide receiver depth on Tuesday.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the team is inking former Buffalo Bills and New York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins.
The length and financial terms of the deal are not yet known, nor is it known if he's signing to the active roster or practice squad.
Hodgins was a former sixth-round pick of the Bills in 2020 but only ended up appearing in three games over two seasons with Buffalo.
He latched on with the Giants in 2022 after he was cut by the Bills and tallied 351 receiving yards in 2022 and 230 yards in 2023.
He played in just two games for the Giants in 2024 while on the team's practice squad. He has yet to play a snap in the NFL in 2025.
The Steelers no doubt needed to add more depth at wide receiver, but this is hardly an adequate addition given how significant the need still is.
Pittsburgh doesn't have a sufficient No. 2 option behind DK Metcalf, and one of the players they were set to depend on in that role, Roman Wilson, has two targets and one reception for seven yards in 32 offensive snaps.
Calvin Austin was another player the Steelers were hoping would step up, but he came crashing back down to Earth in Week 2 after a strong Week 1 showing.
For a team that is seemingly all in, it doesn't look like the Steelers are taking their wide receiver issue seriously.
