This is a little bit confusing.

Did the Philadelphia Eagles have a meeting or not? There are differing stories being told by Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown.

Reports came out before the Eagles' Thursday Night Football game against the New York Giants that the QB Hurts, RB Barkley and WR Brown had met earlier in the week.

The assumption was that the Eagles' three offensive stars wanted to figure out how to get the most out of one another in what has been a tricky start to the season, particularly for Brown.

Then, according to SI's Albert Breer, Barkley and Hurts confirmed on the record that the report was accurate, that a meeting did indeed take place.

That all seems straightforward enough, except that when Brown spoke to reporters after Thursday night's loss, he had a different story.

"I don't recall a meeting," Brown said.

Must've been a really riveting meeting if Brown already has forgotten it.

In all seriousness, it's a weird stance to take here.

If there was a meeting, there's nothing inherently wrong with that. And if Brown knew his teammates had confirmed such a meeting, it seems unlikely he would've aligned himself with a different narrative.

And if there wasn't a meeting, why would Hurts and Barkley say there had been one?

There still feels to be some discontent here. Brown was coming off a better game, six catches for 80 yards, but the Eagles lost for the second time in five days, so the vibes probably aren't perfect.

Maybe they should have a meeting to figure out how to bounce back from this.
