The Philadelphia Eagles suffered their first loss of the season in Week 5, being outscored 18-0 in the fourth quarter by the Denver Broncos to lose 21-17. However, they may have lost more than just the Week 5 contest.
Star running back Saquon Barkley did not practice on Monday ahead of the Eagles' Thursday night matchup with the New York Giants with what the team is classifying as a knee injury. When this injury occurred, exactly, is unknown.
It's been a rough start to the season for the reigning Offensive Player of the Year, as he is currently averaging less than four yards per carry, and the Eagles' offense hasn't been able to run the ball, or throw the ball, for that matter, this season.
Should Barkley miss Thursday against a very solid Giants' defense, another loss could be the result for the Eagles.
