The New York Giants kicked off their first round of OTA workouts this week, and there was a notable on-field absence when the offense took reps: superstar wide receiver Malik Nabers.
Nabers is being held out of workouts with a toe injury, according to SNY's Connor Hughes.
It's the same injury he dealt with when he starred at LSU.
Malik Nabers is dealing with a toe. That’s dated back to college. He won’t practice today for that reason. He didn’t have any procedure. Just needs rest. #Giants

Hughes noted that Nabers didn't require any offseason procedures on his toe and simply needs rest time, which is at least some good news.
But toe injuries can be tricky; they can linger much longer than expected, especially for players who rely on quick-twitch movements like Nabers.

Giants coach Brian Daboll confirmed the goal with Nabers is to make sure he's ready for training camp, so don't expect to see much of him (if at all) during these offseason workouts.
Nabers is the most important piece of the New York Giants' passing attack after finishing his rookie season with 109 catches (a Giants franchise record) for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns in just 15 games. His health is paramount to any success New York will have in 2025.
