The 2026 NFL Draft is a long way away, but that doesn't mean we can't take a spin through the early mock draft circuit to see what players (or, more importantly, which position) the New York Giants are expected to target next April.
Sure, much will change between now and the 2026 draft. Next year's free agency cycle will address many of the Giants' weaknesses that get exposed during the 2025 season, and there's a chance that what appears to be a weakness right now is cured by an unexpected star who emerges during the regular season.
However, armed with what we know right now, it appears pretty safe to assume that offensive tackle will rank high on GM Joe Schoen's wish list next April, and in the latest 2026 NFL Mock Draft from the Draft Wire, the Giants go in that direction in Round 1 with the selection of Alabama star Kayden Proctor.

Proctor is a massive offensive tackle prospect, unofficially listed at 6-foot-7 and 369 pounds. He immediately became the Crimson Tide's starting left tackle as a true freshman, starting all 13 games in 2023. He registered 11 starts in 2024, missing two contests with a shoulder injury.
Kayden Proctor combines rare size and athletic ability and has a chance to be the highest-graded offensive tackle prospect to enter the NFL in the last several years. For the New York Giants to have a chance at landing him, they'll have to be one of the worst teams in the league (again).
This 2026 mock draft has them selecting second overall. And if that happens, you can bet it will be a new general manager and head coach making that decision, unless rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart showcases enough late-season development to feel good about the direction of the program.
