Tyreek Hill's name floated around in trade rumors all offseason.

But as Week 1 arrives, Hill remains with the Miami Dolphins.

There are still many who don't think that'll last. ESPN's Seth Walder is one of those folks.

Walder wrote this weekend that a Hill trade could very well be on its way by the middle of the season:

"It's hardly the boldest call on this list, considering how last year ended, but if Miami's season goes south quickly -- and it certainly could -- it will make sense to deal Hill midway through the campaign to maximize the return as soon as possible rather than holding on to an aging player as a non-contender in the second half."

Hill is 31, and his contract provides a potential out after the season, although a team could choose to keep him for the third and final season of his current deal in 2026.

He's coming off his first sub-1000-yard season since 2019. Hill really struggled, as did the rest of the Dolphins, when Tua Tagovailoa was out injured.

Wide receiver seems to be a classic position for midseason NFL trades. It's not quite the trading frenzy that takes place in the MLB or NBA, but there are still winning deals to be had.

Hill's speed could definitely appeal to a team that gets off to a good start but maybe is one wideout short of being a scary offense.

Of course, the Dolphins could negate all the chatter by starting the season strong. They've got a good chance to be 1-0, with a Week 1 matchup against the Colts looming on Sunday.

But if it's bumpy out of the gates for Miami, don't be surprised to see Hill's name come up again.
