The Miami Dolphins will open their NFL regular season on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Dolphins had an injury-plagued 2024 season, and they're hoping to bounce back in 2025. A big component to that will be running back De'Von Achane, who was dinged up during the preseason.
For Miami to reach its ceiling, it needs the dual-threat Achane to be at full strength.

De'Von Achane injury update
De'Von Achane has been dealing with a calf injury.
But on Monday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported some good news:
"Achane... is returning to practice today and is on track to play Sunday vs. the Colts."
It's a massive development for the Dolphins' offense.

Tua Tagovailoa still has his top weapons, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, at wide receiver. But he uses Achane's talent all over the field.
Last season, Achane ran for 907 yards and also caught 78 passes for 592 yards.
Miami would've been thin at RB if Achane had to miss time. Rookie RB Ollie Gordon would've likely stepped immediately into a big role.
Gordon can still contribute if Achane can't play a full snap load, but the Dolphins will be glad to have their explosive back out there on the field in whatever form he can give them.
