The Los Angeles Rams will be monitoring the status of wide receiver Puka Nacua all week as they prepare for a Week 7 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Nacua suffered an ankle injury in the first half of the Week 6 contest against the Baltimore Ravens.
It looked bad initially, as Nacua had to be helped off the field and to the locker room, but the star wide receiver was able to return to the game in the second half.
However, after the game, head coach Sean McVay has cast some doubt on Nacua's status for Week 7.
Puka Nacua injury update
According to The Athletic's Nate Atkins, McVay said he isn't sure if Nacua will play in Week 7.
"It’s an ankle injury for Puka Nacua, not a foot. Sean McVay isn’t sure yet if he’ll be able to play next week in London. He pushed through pain to give a few snaps late today," Atkins reported.
The fact that Nacua was able to return to the field gives hope he'll be able to give it a go, but clearly his status for next week is far from cemented.
We should get more updates on Nacua once the week flips, but at minimum we'll know more about his status on Wednesday, when the Rams drop their first injury report of the week.
If Nacua can't suit up, Davante Adams would move into the role of Matthew Stafford's No. 1 wide receiver.
Guys like Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell could see more work, also, although Atwell isn't certain to play after he was ruled out in Week 6.
