Will Lamar Jackson return after the bye? Latest injury update on Ravens quarterback image

With the Baltimore Ravens' 2025 season spiraling out of control, the team also has to navigate another game without star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson is dealing with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 4 and was ruled out for the second straight game on Friday. Jackson didn't show any sign of progress, either, as he was a non-participant at practice throughout the week.

Luckily for the Ravens, they have a bye next week, so Jackson gets an extra week to rest up without having to miss another game.

But can we expect him back after the Week 7 bye? Here's what we know.

Will Lamar Jackson return after the bye?

Unfortunately, there is no concrete answer to this question.

However, initial estimates had Jackson sitting out two to three weeks with his hamstring issue, so there's a decent chance he plays in Week 8.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported on Sunday morning that the Ravens are "hopeful" Jackson will return after the bye.

"Lamar is doing everything he can," Ravens backup quarterback Cooper Rush said. "He's around, still keeping engaged in the meetings and things like that. [He is] trying to get that body right and get it going."

Rush will get the nod for the Ravens once again after struggling last week en route to a 44-10 loss at the hands of the Houston Texans. Rush completed 14-of-20 passes for just 179 yards and he tossed three picks, also.

Baltimore is going to need a lot more from Rush in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Rams in order to stave off a 1-5 record, but based off what we saw last week, there isn't a lot of optimism.

Upon his return, Jackson is going to have a mountain to climb to save the Ravens' season, even if Rush is able to pull out a win on Sunday.
