The Los Angeles Rams have a major injury concern with their top wide receiver, Puka Nacua, after he exited the Week 6 game against the Baltimore Ravens early.
Nacua exited in the first half due to an ankle injury. At first, it looked really bad, as Nacua had to be helped off the field and into the locker room.
However, Nacua was able to return to the game later on, although he definitely didn't play a full complement of snaps after suffering the injury.
On Monday morning, we received an injury update on Nacua that reveals he could miss time with his injury.
Puka Nacua injury update
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Nacua will likely miss time with his injury.
"Rams WR Puka Nacua, the NFL’s leader in catches, suffered an ankle sprain that will likely cause him to miss time, per me and Mike Garafolo," Rapoport reported.
The good news for the Rams is that they have a bye in Week 8 after their Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, so Nacua will have an extra week to get healthy without having to miss another game.
As much as we'd love to see Nacua on the field in Week 7, the Rams must take their time with their top wideout, who ranks first in catches and second in receiving yards through six games.
If Nacua can't give it a go on Sunday, Davante Adams will step into his role as the No. 1 wide receiver for Matthew Stafford. Nacua's absence could also provide a boost for Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell, assuming he can return from his injury that sidelined the wide receiver in Week 6.
