Things got ugly following the Week 6 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions.
After the Chiefs earned a convincing 30-17 win over the Lions on Sunday night, there was a major scuffle on the field, with things getting kicked off by Lions safety Brian Branch and Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
The fight started when Branch delivered an open-handed punch to Smith-Schuster after the Chiefs took their final kneel down to close out the game. Smith-Schuster was definitely jawing at Branch, so that's probably what sparked Branch's inexcusable punch.
Smith-Schuster was obviously not pleased with Branch's punch and went after him, which led to both teams getting involved to defend their teammates.

After the game, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was critical of Branch's actions.
"I mean, we play the game in between the whistles," Mahomes said. "They can do all the extracurricular stuff they want to do, but we play the game in between the whistles."
Before Smith-Schuster jawed at Branch and got punched, Branch looked to ignore Mahomes' post-game handshake, so that might have been what the Chiefs wide receiver was giving Branch the business over.
One thing we can say for certain, Branch is going to get fined by the league. We'll see if Smith-Schuster faces any punishment for the scuffle.
