Despite drawing a questionable tag and only logging one limited practice last week, Las Vegas Raiders star tight end Brock Bowers was able to suit up against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2.
Bowers, who was sporting a knee brace, didn't end up doing much after tallying five catches for 38 yards, but he did play 54 snaps and got through the game without aggravating his injury, which is a good sign that his knee is fine.
However, Bowers is once again on the injury report this week and he wasn't able to turn in a full practice on Wednesday, so that technically puts his status up in the air for Week 3 against the Washington Commanders.
Here's what we know about Bowers.
Brock Bowers injury update
According to the Raiders' Week 3 injury report, Bowers was a limited participant on Thursday. The good news is, that's a step up in his participation from the first day of last week, when he didn't practice at all.
In fact, Bowers didn't practice at all the first two days of last week, so another limited session on Thursday would also be an upgrade and reason for optimism about his status for this week.
All of this suggests that Bowers is indeed on pace to suit up on Sunday against the Commanders, although we'll most certainly be keeping an eye on the injury report in the next few days to confirm he will play.
Bowers has seen eight targets and five receptions apiece over the first two games of the season but turned in very different results with 103 yards in Week 1 and 38 yards in Week 2.
Head coach Pete Carroll told the media that the Raiders need to find a way to keep Bowers involved throughout the game, which suggests he could see even more opportunities moving forward.
"We really need (Bowers)... active throughout the game," Carroll said, per Nick Walters of KTNV.
At this point, we would expect Bowers to be full-go for Week 3, and hopefully he sees more action, also.
