In the second half of the Week 1 game between the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots, tight end Brock Bowers exited the game due to injury.

Bowers appeared to be limping early in the fourth quarter after a passing play. It isn't clear when the injury occurred, but it was clear he wasn't 100%. The Raiders made the wise move to remove him from the game.

Before his exit, Bowers was having a monster afternoon with five catches for 103 yards.

Here's the latest update on Bowers' injury.

UPDATE: Raiders head coach Pete Carroll revealed after the game that Bowers wanted to return to the field, but the team wouldn't let him. Bowers is still being evaluated, Carroll added.

The fact that Bowers wanted to get back into the game suggests he's doing OK. We'll know more once the test results come back.

END OF UPDATE

According to the Raiders, Bowers is dealing with a knee injury and is questionable to return. Trainers were spotted working on him on the sideline.

This is obviously terrible news for the Raiders, as Bowers is their best offensive weapon. His absence will mean more run and looks for Michael Mayer.

We'll update this page when more information is available.
