All eyes have been on Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy after he sustained a shoulder injury in the Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The injury occurred on the Chiefs' very first drive. Worthy was running across the middle of the field when he collided with tight end Travis Kelce, leading to the unfortunate injury.

Worthy was scheduled to get an MRI on Saturday, and the results are now in.

According the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Worthy suffered a dislocated shoulder in Brazil, although he's still set to undergo more tests. Rapoport notes that Worthy will be out "at least for a period of time."

The insider adds that surgery is on the table, as is Worthy putting on a brace and returning at some point this season. Either way, it looks like Worthy is going to miss time.

Even if he can slap a brace on it and play, the risk of re-injury is going to be high. If Worthy ends up getting surgery, that will be mean a significant absence and quite possibly the end of his season.

This is obviously a devastating blow for the Chiefs, who are already without wideout Rashee Rice for the first six games due to a suspension.

Kansas City also didn't have rookie wide receiver Jalen Royals on Friday night after he was ruled out with a knee injury ahead of Week 1.

With Worthy, Rice and Royals all out in Week 1, Marquise Brown was absolutely peppered with targets. Brown received 16 looks in all and turned them into 10 receptions for 99 yards, both tops on the team.

JuJu Smith-Schuster served as the No. 2 wide receiver, finishing with five catches on five targets for 55 yards, all of which ranked second. Tyquan Thornton saw four targets and tallied two catches for 41 yards, including a 38-yard grab.

Now, it'll be interesting to see if the Chiefs sign a veteran wide receiver, which seems likely. Two names to keep an eye on are Odell Beckham Jr. and Robert Woods.

Woods was cut loose by the Pittsburgh Steelers after missing out on the 53-man roster and joining the practice squad, which is a bad sign for the veteran's future considering how badly the Steelers need wide receivers.

Beckham was actually in attendance at the Chiefs-Chargers game on Friday night. He does want to play in 2025, so he remains a possibility for Kansas City.

While both players have been on the decline for years now, the Chiefs are likely going to strongly consider signing at least one of them given their desperate situation and need for bodies at the position.
