The Kansas City Chiefs have shown us their best and worst football through the first six weeks, which isn't ideal for a team chasing a Super Bowl.
Yes, injuries have played their part, no doubt, but the Chiefs still had the majority of their leaders, and the performances haven't been as we expect. The gap between their best and worst, which is usually minimal, has been larger than in previous seasons.
And as the Chiefs gear up for their Week 7 clash against the Las Vegas Raiders, Patrick Mahomes gave a little insight into one thing the locker room is chasing from here on out.
“The first thing Coach Reid said was about showing consistency,” Mahomes said. “That's something that's super important in this league. You can have highs and lows, this is a long NFL season. It's about who can be the most consistent week in and week out. That's something we have to be better at.
"We've showcased that we can play against anybody, but we've also showcased that we can make mistakes and lose against anybody. For us, it's about going out there and playing our best football every single week.”

Chiefs have chance to prove consistency before bye week
Kansas City showed its best football against the high-flying Detroit Lions last week, and now comes a "lesser" team in the Raiders, but it is a division game, and Las Vegas has always been a tricky proposition for the Chiefs.
Win that game.
Then, it is the Washington Commanders, then the Buffalo Bills.
That is the three-week window where Kansas City can prove that it can play with the sort of consistency that Super Bowl contenders need to have.
Is it achievable? Absolutely, and we're about to see if this version of the Chiefs is about to wake up from its early-season slumber.
Consistency, folks, it's what every team is chasing.
