The Kansas City Chiefs are finally getting their No. 1 weapon back in Rashee Rice for Week 7, but there had been some mystery as to how much the receiver would play.

Given he has been out for six weeks, one can easily envision the Chiefs easing Rice back into the fold, given the abundance of other weapons at Patrick Mahomes' disposal, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

At least for ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, anyway, who reported that Rice would see a heavy workload against the Las Vegas Raiders, but he's outside the building. Would he really know the snap count that Rice is expected to have? Possibly.

And head coach Andy Reid was asked about Fowler's report on Rice, offered a rather light-hearted response.

“Well, he's going to play," Reid said. "How many snaps he gets, ask Jeremy, he'll tell you."

Rice the missing piece for Chiefs offense

If Fowler's report is correct, and I believe he would have been told that by someone in the Chiefs building, having Rice be all gas no brakes from the outset is a little risky, but given the type of player he is and what he can do for this offense. the more snaps he's on the field, the better.

But it will be a delicate balancing act for the Chiefs' coaching staff. Still, luckily, they have others in Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Travis Kelce to help carry the workload while Rice gets his feet underneath him.

In truth, no one really knows what to expect from Rice on Sunday against the Raiders, but one thing is for certain: Rashee will be on the field and Mahomes will finally have his full array of weapons for the first time this season.

As for how many snaps Rice will play? Don't ask Reid, that's a question for Mr. Fowler.
