The Green Bay Packers have an injury concern with tight end Tucker Kraft ahead of the Week 3 game against the Cleveland Browns.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kraft suffered a knee injury at practice on Thursday and is set to undergo tests to determine the severity. The injury occurred in his left knee.
Thankfully, Rapoport adds that the injury is not considered a long-term issue. However, this now puts Kraft's status for Week 3 in doubt.
On the Packers' official injury report, Kraft was listed as a limited participant, but that is the usual designation for someone who gets injured at practice.
The fact that Kraft suffered the injury in the middle of the week means his chances of playing are very slim and the Packers are going to err on the side of caution with a player who is immensely important to the offense and quarterback Jordan Love.
Kraft had a breakout season in 2024 after totaling career-highs in receptions (50) and receiving yards (707). He had his best game as a pro in Week 2, when Kraft finished with six receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown.
It was the first 100-yard game of Kraft's career and officially put him on the map as one of the better tight ends in the NFL.
If Kraft is forced to miss time, backup tight end Luke Musgrave will get more run on offense. The Packers also have John FitzPatrick and Ben Sims on the 53-man roster and Josh Whyle on the practice squad.
