Running back Jahmyr Gibbs got plenty of work in the passing game in the Detroit Lions' Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers, but he couldn't do much with his opportunities.

Gibbs saw a whopping 10 targets and reeled in all 10 of them, but he only totaled 31 receiving yards, which is a depressing 3.1 yards per catch. That's almost unfathomable.

If that seems like a historically bad yard per catch number to you, you'd be right.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, Gibbs' 31 yards were the fewest for a player with at least 10 catches in a game in NFL history.

It was also a rough day on the ground for Gibbs, who only managed 19 yards on nine carries. David Montgomery had slightly more success, but not by much. He finished with just 25 yards on 11 carries. Neither back scored.

The biggest issue was the penetration the Packers were getting up the middle, where the Lions have three new starters.

Graham Glasgow moved over to center after starting at guard last year, and rookie Tate Ratledge and second-year lineman Christian Mahogany are new starters at guard.

After such an ugly debut against a division rival that looked better in every facet, there is already panic setting in for Lions fans.

Granted, it's extremely early to start hitting the panic button, but there is at least some cause for concern after how bad the Lions looked to start the season. It's something we haven't seen from Detroit much over the past few years.

Gibbs and the Lions will look to rebound in a Week 2 contest against the Chicago Bears.
