The Dallas Cowboys have gone far too long without addressing their wide receiver room.
CeeDee Lamb leads that room, and he's been spectacular throughout his NFL career. But his efficiency took a major hit in 2024, and that can be partially explained by his lack of supporting cast.
Lamb led Dallas with 1,194 receiving yards this past season, while Jalen Tolbert was second with 610. That's not to say that the Cowboys need to find another Lamb, but he at least needs a better second banana.
With free agency and the draft already complete, the main recourse the Cowboys have now is the trade market. And one NFL writer believes there's an obvious target for Dallas to pursue.
On Tuesday, Bleacher Report's Alex Kay pitched a hypothetical trade that would send Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens, a popular name in the rumor mill so far this offseason, to Dallas.
"If Dallas is going to return to the playoffs and start the Brian Schottenheimer era off by seriously contending, the team must shore up the receiving corps as soon as possible," Kay wrote. "With every marquee free agent already under contract, a deal for Pickens is the best way to accomplish this goal.

"(Pickens) could thrive with Dak Prescott throwing the ball to him and Lamb drawing away defensive attention. The wideout has already racked up 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns over the first 48 games of his career despite being paired with underperforming passers."
Pickens, 24, was a second-round pick in 2022 and his highlight-reel catches often capture the attention of the national audience. He might not be a number-one wideout even with better quarterback play, but he'd be a fantastic number-two.
Odds are, Pickens wouldn't want to be traded without at least the promise of future extension negotiations, if not a new deal being all but guaranteed. Spotrac projects him for a four-year, $94 million deal based on market value.
