Dak Prescott is about to make history.

He may pass Tony Romo on Sunday, and then Troy Aikman will follow soon after. The Dallas Cowboys have had a lot of prolific passers, but by one measure, Prescott will soon be atop the list.

The statistic: passing completions.

Entering Sunday, Aikmman tops the list with 2,898 completions.

Romo is in second with 2,829 completions.

Prescott is third with 2,801 completions.

For those wondering, fourth place is Danny White (1,761) and fifth place is Roger Staubach (1,685).

Prescott will move past Romo once he has another 29 completions. It'll take 98 more to get past Aikman.

Both of those should happen in the next handful of games, assuming Prescott stays healthy.

Prescott is already the leader in completion percentage among Cowboys QBs to play at least 10 games, at 66.6%.

The current starter is also second in touchdown passes for Dallas, with 213, behind just Romo's 248. Aikman threw 165 touchdowns as Emmitt Smith capped off so many of those drives with scores.

Prescott also has a lower interception percentage than either Romo or Aikman.

Ironically, Prescott has a near-identical won-loss record to Romo. The current CBS commentator was 78-49 as the Cowboys' starter, while Prescott is currently 76-47. Aikman had a 94-71 mark.

The numbers certainly make a strong case for Prescott as one of the best quarterbacks the Cowboys have had.
