No matter what Cameron Dicker, the kicker for the Los Angeles Chargers, does on his next field goal attempt, this will be true:
Dicker will be the NFL's all-time leader in field goal percentage.
Pro Football Focus writer Timo Riske shared the stat on Thursday.
Dicker is 93-for-99 in his NFL career on field goals. The all-time leaderboard requires a kicker to have attempted 100 field goals in the regular season.

And whether Dicker is at 93% or 94% after his 100th kick, it'll stand alone at No. 1.
The current leader is ex-Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
This is the current top-five in field goal percentage:
- Justin Tucker, 89.1%
- Harrison Butker, 88.8%
- Chris Boswell, 88.1%
- Eddy Pineiro, 88.1%
- Daniel Carlson, 87.2%
If that doesn't emphasize the brilliance of modern kickers, nothing will.
Pineiro was just hanging out in free agency until this week, when the 49ers picked him up to replace Jake Moody.

Given the early cushion Dicker has given himself, it'll be tough for him to fall down out of the top spot.
From this exact moment, Dicker would have to miss his next six field goal attempts to fall below Tucker's percentage. Considering Dicker has only missed six field goals in his first 99 tries, that doesn't seem like a probably outcome.
Kicking can be fickle. One bad rut can change everything.
But right now, there has been no more accurate kicker in NFL history than Dicker. And his next attempt will put him atop the leaderboard to prove that.
