The Dallas Cowboys didn't pay Micah Parsons, instead opting to trade him to the Green Bay Packers.
But they didn't mind handing out a big payday to their playmaking cornerback DaRon Bland.
On Sunday, the Cowboys and Bland reached agreement on a four-year, $92 million contract extension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The deal includes $50 million guaranteed, writes Rapoport.

Bland's crowning NFL season so far was 2023, when he had nine interceptions. He returned five of those to the end zone for touchdowns.
His story is pretty darn inspiring, too. Bland had just a single offer out of high school but never stopped believing in himself.
“I was the guy that didn’t have too many offers out of high school,” Bland has said previously. “I had one offer so I went to Sac State, played three years, and then went to Fresno [State] and didn’t start until four games into the season. Just stuff like that. Just keep going. You’ll never know when your opportunity is going to come.”

When healthy, the Cowboys have a strong cornerback group that also includes Trevon Diggs.
Bland just turned 26, so he should have a strong career ahead of him.
The Cowboys save face a little from the Parsons move. They'll still have a talent-rich defense this season, with the bringing back of Kenny Clark to play on the interior of the defensive line at least a decent return with the two first-round draft picks for Parsons.
At least Bland isn't going anywhere. And his play is anything but bland.
