The Cleveland Browns are preparing to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to open the NFL season as part of Week 1.

They'll have a handful of players in new jersey numbers when the game kicks off.

Five Browns picked a new number, with the team announcing the changes on Monday.

Rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, drafted in the third round, will wear No. 8. That was his college number. Gabriel wore 5 in the preseason, but 8 became available when the Browns traded Kenny Pickett to the Raiders.

Isaiah Bond, the late preseason signee out of Texas, will wear No. 16. He brings speed and talent to the receiving corps.

Adin Huntington has picked No. 98 after being 66 in the preseason as an undrafted rookie. He was one of the surprises of the summer at defensive tackle, and head coach Kevin Stefanski even put him in as a fullback during the preseason.

The Browns' new kicker, Andre Szmyt, chose a different sort of number for a kicker. He'll wear No. 25.

And Browns safety Rayshawn Jenkins has entered the ranks of the single digits, picking No. 5.

Shedeur Sanders remains No. 12, for those wondering, because veteran receiver and return man DeAndre Carter made the team and has No. 2.

At this point, it's all about the old look good, feel good, play good mantra.

If these Browns like the numbers on their chest, it all works out for everyone.
