The worst-case scenario for Joe Burrow is worse than anyone expected.
ESPN's Adam Schefter broke the bad news about the Cincinnati Bengals QB on Sunday night on X.
This is what Schefter wrote:
"Images of Joe Burrow’s turf toe injury are being sent to noted foot specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, to be reviewed. If surgery is deemed necessary, it would be expected to sideline Burrow three months. Burrow was in a walking boot and on crutches after today’s game."

The key here is an if: Surgery is guaranteed to be required.
But it sounds like Burrow could be looking at an extended absence if it is.
The superstar QB was hurt on a sack when the Jaguars got all over Burrow, and he got caught in an awkward position.
He had his left foot planted a bit uncomfortably as he was brought to the ground, and it appeared his left foot got caught in the turf a bit.

The toes were pointed down into the turf as the foot got stuck, so that's likely how Burrow hurt himself.
The Bengals managed an incredible win with backup QB Jake Browning at the helm.
It's not clear what Cincinnati would do at quarterback if Burrow is meant to be out for a couple months. A name like Kirk Cousins will be suggested as a trade candidate.
The Bengals will be hoping surgery isn't required, of course. That'd be better for everyone except Cincinnati's opponents.
