The Week 1 game between the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars has been delayed due to a lightning warning.

The delay came in the second quarter. While the skies above EverBank Stadium looked good early on, there is a storm expected to roll through shortly and any threat of lightning will lead to the NFL temporarily suspended the game for the safety of players, coaches, staff and fans.

Prior to the delay, the Jaguars had a 10-3 lead. They scored their lone touchdown on a pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence to tight end Hunter Long in the second quarter, and they notched a field goal before that in the first quarter.

Carolina's three points came on a field goal from kicker Ryan Fitzgerald.
