It’s been a challenging first two seasons for Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young. However, Year 2 was difficult since the young signal caller was benched at one point last season.
Nonetheless, heading into his third NFL season, Young is putting his struggles behind him and looks like a new quarterback for the Panthers. On Tuesday, NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe appeared on the NFL Network and shared a promising update on the 24-year-old.
“I’ll tell you what, talking to people here in Carolina, Bryce Young has been a much more confident player than he was at this time last year," Wolfe said. "He’s been a guy who has taken command of this offense.
"Talking to their general manager, Dan Morgan, they said, "This is his team. This is his offense.’ Yes, he’s not the most vocal guy, but when he speaks up, people listen, and the Panthers are going to roll as far as Bryce Young takes them."
Bryce Young is taking command of this Panthers offense with more confidence than ever and ready to lead Carolina to make a NFC South surprise.

Despite being benched last season, Young did record a career high of 15 touchdowns that should serve as a confidence booster heading into the 2025 season. Wolfe noted that Young's finish to last season has the Panthers feeling that the Alabama product has figured it out and can perform at this top level.

"I remember being here for the season finale game, and their owner, David Tepper, after Bryce Young balled out, told me, 'I think we've got our quarterback,'" Wolfe added. "And that’s the feel for Carolina: we’ve got our quarterback, and we’re ready to surprise some people this season. You’ve seen moments."
This season could be a make-or-break one for Young as the Panthers need to decide soon where he's their franchise quarterback. Whether or not Carolina picks up the fifth-year option in Young's contract will tell their fanbase whether they have a player to build their organization around or if the front office need to head back to the drawing board.
