Colorado and Coach Prime experienced the first game in the post-Shedeur Sanders era. While the 27-20 loss to Georgia Tech was a stinger, there were a few good takeaways from the season opener.

The former Buffaloes quarterback agrees. Shedeur took to social media with a "trust the process" message for his former teammates. "They'll figure things out. They have a great head coach," Sanders wrote on X.

Colorado's offense seems to have a more balanced approach, but nonetheless Kaidon Salter threw for 159 yards and a touchdown in his CU debut. As a whole, Colorado's offense ended with 305 total yards. There was an expectation Salter would split time under center with freshman five-star Julian Lewis in the opener.

However, that wasn't the case for Pat Shurmur's offensive game plan. "Kaidon played well," Deion Sanders said after the game. A couple times I thought he should've ran and he threw. I don't want him to prove to us that he can throw the ball. We know he can throw the ball. We wanted you because he's a dual-threat. We want him to be a dual-threat."

Sanders went on to say,  "Dawg, you're a dual-threat... Do you know what that means? Use your legs."

The Yellow Jackets overcame three first quarter turnovers to beat the Buffs in Boulder. Haynes King rushed for a career-high 156 yards, including a 45-yard game-winning touchdown run. "We've got to clean up all that," Sanders said about the run defense. "We just got gashed for 463 yards. (King) is looking like a Heisman candidate right now. We made that happen for him. We've got to do a better job collectively."

Colorado rolls on to face Delaware next week at Folsom Field.
