In case you’ve been under a rock today, the news of music’s biggest star Taylor Swift getting engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce might come as a shock. The two announced the news on Instagram. In an announcement that broke the internet to its core, it has also made people appreciate how far the Kelce’s have come.
A photo of the Kelce brothers during their Cincinnati days resurfaced on Tuesday. The caption was wild to think about: “The Greatest Comeback of All Time. One was nominated for Sexiest Man Alive. The other just got engaged to Taylor Swift.” And man you can really tell how far they’ve come.
Jason Kelce, once a man in this photo looking like the guy at Jiffy Lube that recommends thousands of dollars of repairs when all you wanted was an oil change, had a glow up to be a People’s Sexiest Man Alive finalist, and one of the most successful podcasters in the world. All after having one of the best careers as a center the NFL has ever seen.

On the other hand, Travis Kelce was certainly ready for it. At one point, he was looking like that guy at your school that listened to a little too much Eminem, went from being a blank space in the minds of celebrities like Swift, to now posing in the middle of the ocean looking like Razor Ramon in a construction zone.
Taylor might have known Travis could be trouble from when he walked in, but that didn’t dissuade him from living out his own love story, and Taylor just said “yes.”
This will certainly only help the reputation of the Kelce brothers, as their hit podcast will only get bigger. Travis has also hinted at this being his last NFL season, a feeling his brother knows all too well.
Now, of course, this announcement has come with its fair share of naysayers and doubters, from Swift haters to Chiefs haters, but I’m sure all involved will just simply “shake it off,” as these two seem to have a love written in the folklore.
